Name

Ted Paull

What was your life style like when you decided to follow Jesus?

My lifestyle was as a child member of my family, with most activities having

family involvement. Since my parents were already Christians, then I

concurred with their lifestyle.

What year were you baptised? What age were you?

I was baptized in 1957 when I was 11 years old.

Where did you begin to worship and what was your first impression of the church?

I worshipped with my family and a few other families who met in our home.

My impression was that the church was like an extended family which

sincerely sought to discover and practice God‚s will in worship on Sundays

and in activities throughout the week.

What difficulties / challenges did you have in striving to be like Jesus?

The only real challenges were later in life at university when the majority

of my peers had no God-given motivations and whose behavior was sometimes

ungodly.

What challenges did you have in feeling part of the Lord‚s body?

I was totally accepted by other Christians and immediately felt part of the body.

What principles of the Restoration movement (restoring Christianity to be as it is in the New Testament) are important to you?

Restoring the pattern of church worship and organization was initially very

important. Later the spirit of Christianity and the edification of the

church became very important as well. The influence of the church on the

community has become very important.

What did you think about having no musical instruments in worship?

All of my family had learnt music and played musical instruments, but it

was obvious that they were not used in the New Testament, so this was

readily accepted by the whole church (including me) as being part of what

God wanted for the church.

What spiritual interest did you have before becoming a Christian?

Perhaps the interest was mainly investigative, wanting to know the

historical events in the Bible, and the details of how Christianity came

into being. I considered being good was the right and appropriate way to

behave and that this pleased God.

What is important to you, in how you walk in Jesus today?

What is important now is giving every encouragement to fellow Christians to

grow and maintain faithfulness to Jesus. It is important that I use my time

and talents to do this through teaching, advice, encouragement and example.

It is also important that those who show some interest in Jesus be persuaded

to become his disciples.

Where do you worship today? Approximately how many brethren?

I worship with the Macquarie church with about 30 brethren.

What roles do you carry out in the church?

I carry out teaching and preaching roles and try to give as much

encouragement as possible to new Christians and non-Christians. I also try

to do any other things I think that are needed by the church and by

individuals.
